I am Kevin R. Roberts, president of Main Street Orion.  My wife, Emily, conductor of the Orion Community Band, and I moved to Orion in 1991.  We are both teachers-Emily in elementary music in the Moline school district, while I am in the English Department of Monmouth College.  At Monmouth, I teach all levels and kinds of courses, including grammar, writing, and literature.  I am the resident Sherlock Holmes specialist.  I also teach in the writing program at St. Ambrose University.  I am originally from Southern Illinois and have been a member of Main Street Orion for several years.  I am very proud to be a member of such a vital, active group.
Meet Our Board Members
I am Beth McAvoy, the owner and director of Charger Child Care, Inc.  Our family moved to Orion in November, 2000.  We looked at many small towns before choosing Orion.  We were searching for that special town that had family events; a small community where everyone smiles and says hello when you walk down the street.  We found all of that and more when we moved here. Orion was particularly attractive because of its Main Street Orion events for the whole family.  That is when I contacted Deb Ford to become a part of Main Street Orion.  My husband, Audi, and I have been married for over twenty-five years. We have three grown children, two sons and a daughter.  My dream of owning and operating my own center, Charger Child Care, came true on June, 2008.  I could not have opened my center so easily without my Orion friends, families, the support of Main Street Orion, and local businesses.  I have always felt that we moved “home” when we moved to Orion.
